In their train cabin, Billy had a special meal prepared for Sally, comprised of French Fries complete with hot sauce. Sally told Billy she knew what he was doing. She told him this whole distraction thing was not going to work. Sally said she was very concerned about Billy going after Chancellor Industries with Cane. She doesn't know where this leaves them or her in terms of Abbott Communications.

Sally did appreciate Billy's efforts to charm her, but she felt he was blowing her off. Sally wondered where she and Abbott Communications stood given Billy's desire to get Chancellor Industries back. She added that she could take Abbott Communications to where it needed to go if he wanted to focus on Chancellor. Billy asked Sally to look under her dessert tray. Sally said she didn't need crème brûlée. She lifted the lid to her dessert plate and saw a note with her name on it. She picked at it with her fork. "Now, who's being coy?" Billy asked.

Billy said that, since there was no internet, he put on a piece of paper what he wanted Sally to know. It was an agreement that if he took over Chancellor, she would be CEO of Abbott Communications. Sally noted it was unsigned. "You heard me," an appreciative Sally softly said. Billy said there was never any doubt.

Sally thanked Billy for giving her the backup to make her feel secure. Billy told Sally he trusted her with Abbott Communications. He added there were a lot of moving parts in his plan to get Chancellor Industries back from Victor. Sally gently pointed out that Cane had already backed out.

Billy recalled a time when he felt Jill pitted Cane and Billy against one another. Billy said Cane gathering everyone together indicated he wanted an audience for when he took down the main man (Victor). Billy said he had wanted Chancellor for a long time. It was a dream. He wanted Sally to have her dream, too.

Sally said that Billy wanted revenge. Billy said he wanted what was his, and if Victor were to go down in the process, that would be okay. Billy said Sally will have a hell of a story when Abbott Communications reports Victor's downfall. Sally cautioned that revenge never ends well. Billy said all he saw were good things. Then, he signed the handwritten document he presented to Sally, in which she will run Abbott Communications. Sally signed it, too. Then, Sally took the pen and wrote "I love you" on Billy's palm. "Thank you for being my partner in all this," Billy said. Then, he and Sally kissed.

Meanwhile, Sharon and Nick lamented at Cane's estate that they needed to be back home with their loved ones. Sharon likened the control Cane had over her life to being trapped in the clinic by Martin. Then, Lily and Damian joined them. Nick said he was interested in learning about Damian, given his history with Cane.

Damian said he couldn't say much about Cane/Dumas as he met him when they all did during Cane's big reveal. He did say he reached out to Dumas years ago after learning he was a business tycoon on the rise. Damian said he used his connections in Los Angeles to get Dumas/Cane's attention. Sharon was surprised that it worked. Nick said that the Cane that Damian knows is very different from the Cane they all know.

Damian said he and Cane communicated by email and occasionally by phone. Sharon thought that was odd. Damian said he was making good money. He didn't see any red flags. Nick noted that Damian had no insights into Cane. Lily said only someone who had something to hide would create a new persona.

Sharon pointed out that Cane came to Genoa City with a con, and while he reformed, perhaps, his saying that he had changed was the true con. Lily wondered when Cane had changed. Sharon asked if Cane had said anything to her privately about his intentions. "No," Lily responded. "He just said things that made no sense like he wanted to keep this new path separate..." Sharon asked what that meant. Lily said she didn't know.

Sharon asked if Mattie and Charlie knew about Cane. Lily said if she could get hold of them, she wouldn't tell them as she needs to figure out her feelings about everything that's happened. Sharon knew what it was like to want to protect your kids. Nick couldn't figure out why Cane was hiding behind the mystery. Sharon said she felt uneasy not being able to contact her family.

Nick said that as soon as the train tracks were cleared, they would be out of there. Lily said she wasn't leaving until she got answers. Sharon noted that Lily deserved the truth. Nick and Damian agreed. Damian added that they should be focused on what Cane was going to do moving forward.

Lily said Cane must have picked the name Aristotle Dumas for a reason. There had to be a connection to the story of The Count of Monte Cristo, which tells the tale of a man who returns seeking revenge. Nick said they needed to be prepared for what Cane would do next. Lily shared with Damian, Nick, and Sharon that Cane told Devon that Cane had claimed that someone at his gala may try to kill him. "Okay, now, we've jumped the shark," Nick responded. Lily didn't think that while Cane had upset people, no one would try to kill him. Nick shared that Victor turned Cane down flat regarding the purchase of Chancellor Industries.

Sharon said things could be worse. Lily agreed that being in France at Cane's estate doesn't compare to what Sharon did with her kidnapping ordeal with Phyllis. Lily wondered what the worst that Cane could do. She joked he wouldn't keep everyone trapped in France while he stole their businesses in Genoa City.

Meanwhile, Cane walked into Crimson Lights in Genoa City. He took a seat in the back area. Then, Holden appeared and called Cane "Mr. Dumas." Cane complimented Holden on the work he'd done for him. Holden assured Cane that no one suspected a thing about their current relationship. Holden wondered what Cane was doing in town when he should be hosting a gala in France. He also wanted to know why they were meeting at a coffee shop.

Holden guessed that Dumas knew Genoa City. Cane said that very little had changed, yet everything had changed. Cane asked Holden if he'd told anyone he was working for him again. Holden said no and that he had done as ordered. He has led people to think that he's still searching for work. Holden thanked Dumas. "You can call me 'Cane Ashby,'" Cane told Holden. He added that Aristotle Dumas would soon cease to exist.

Cane said he created Dumas so he could build his empire with anonymity. Holden asked what had changed. Cane said it was all part of his plan and that Genoa City means a lot to him. He told Holden he needed to continue to be his eyes and ears. Cane complimented Holden on getting the real estate he asked for. Cane added to Holden that there were to be no further questions about his intentions.

Cane asked Holden to make inroads with Claire, Mariah, Adam, and Chelsea. He advised Holden to be casual, likable, and non-threatening. Holden told his boss to consider it done. Cane corrected Holden after he asked a question. Holden said he wouldn't question Cane again. Cane asked Holden what he knew about Damian and his relationship with Lily. Holden said Damian was attracted to Lily. He has seen him be fond of other women, and he has watched those relationships run their course. However, he had never seen anything like this with Lily. Cane asked if Lily had feelings for Damian. Holden couldn't say, but he said that Damian was willing to leave Amy and Nate behind until he met Lily.

Holden asked why Cane cared about Lily and Damian. Cane said that he and Lily had a history together. He felt that Damian was a player, and he didn't want Lily to get hurt. Holden and Cane wrapped up their meeting. Cane flashed back to when he danced with Lily at Crimson Lights. Then, Chelsea walked into the coffee shop. "Cane? When did you get back into town?" Chelsea inquired.
