New spoilers for The Young and the Restless

In a newly released promo video today, The Young and the Restless looks to be keeping viewers — and guests — on their toes at Aristotle Dumas’ estate in the French Riviera. Of course, by now fans know that the infamous Mr. Dumas is actually Cane Ashby, but what we don’t know is how he actually became a billionaire in six short years. Did he really invest in cryptocurrency and amass his wealth there? Or did he rip off someone along the way, who seeks revenge?

Cane (Billy Flynn) invited Chance (Conner Floyd) to the estate, or as they’re calling it now, the “extended vacation,” and asked to speak to him alone. While standing in the maze, Cane told Chance that he thought by the end of the week, someone could try to kill him. He didn’t say who or why, leaving Chance to figure it out on his own. Chance told Devon (Bryton James), Abby (Melissa Ordway), and Lily (Christle Khalil) about their conversation, and they were confused. Who would want to kill Cane, why, and what could Chance do about it?

Meanwhile, Damian (Jermaine Rivers) found a set of decorative old knives on the train, and picked up a dagger to look at it. He seemed fascinated, but did he accidentally incriminate himself? In the spoiler video, someone is seen carrying the knife. As Lily listens in the maze, Phyllis (Michelle Stafford), Diane (Susan Walters), and Jack (Peter Bergman) are startled by something. In a voiceover, we hear Damian telling Cane that he always knew what he was really like. In another scene, Cane slams his fists onto a table.

Tempers and suspicions are on the rise in France…and things might not be too Nice. Is someone going to get murdered? Assuming the target is Cane, who that we know of would want him killed — and why did he know in advance? Is Cane setting someone up as part of his master plan? Worse…will an innocent party member be the accidental victim?
