Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu was born on the 25th of April, 1963, in Boulogne-Billancourt, France. She belongs to a family with strong ties to the arts. Her father, Philippe Leroy, is a prominent actor, while her mother, Françoise Laurent, was a model.

When Leroy-Beaulieu was young, her father worked in the Italian film industry, which exposed her to the industry at a very early age. At the age of 16, she made the decision to move to Paris to study drama, even though her parents advised her to do something else. This decision began a long and successful career in acting.

In 1983, Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu made her screen debut in Roger Vadim's comedy-drama Surprise Party, and then played Fauve Mistral in the 1984 mini-series Mistral's Daughter, which was based on Judith Krantz's novel.

In 1985, she gained attention with a role as the awkward mother in the successful French comedy Trois hommes et un couffin (Three Men and a Cradle). For this role, the Emily in Paris star was nominated for a César Award for Most Promising Actress, which created an immense boost to her profile in France.

And then came Emily in Paris in 2020, in which Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu made fans love Sylvie. As seen in the first Season of the Netflix show, Sylvie initially didn't like Emily Cooper as he company seemed to be dominating her French firm.

However, she was undeniably intrigued by how talented Cooper is, and the two eventually started to bond. By Season 3, Sylvie and Emily's relationship is much stronger than before. She trusts her and even gave Cooper the responsibility to handle the new franchise of Agence Grateau in Italy.
