Gold Rush: White Water season 9 started airing on Discovery on April 25, 2025, and five cast members returned to the screen. The show serves as a spinoff to the original Gold Rush series and follows the miners as they try to turn their luck around in the wilderness of Haines Borough, Alaska. The cast is headed by the Hurt family, whose patriarch is Dustin Hurt.
As the miners are situated in Alaska, they use a suction dredge to dive and explore the whitewater creeks. Currently, we are on the last season of the show, as was announced by the original network last year. Meaning, Gold Rush: White Water is not coming back on Discovery again.
When the cast of this show is mentioned, it is also important to reminisce about the original Hurt member of the family. It was Fred Hurt, who passed away before Gold Rush: White Water could be filmed for its last season.
He had brain cancer and passed on after his 80th birthday. Thus, right now, Dustin holds the reins in Alaska. Here is what the cast looks like for season 9.
