What happened in Watson Season 2 Episode 1?
In Episode 1 of Watson Season 2, John is seen moving on in his life and has begun dating again. During a date, Mary calls him and informs him about her mother's condition. He quickly leaves to support her and investigate what had happened to Elizabeth.
It is revealed that due to the sudden and quick progression of dementia, Elizabeth forgot her bitter almond extract recipe and kept on taste testing, giving herself cyanide poisoning. All the doctors of Holmes Clinic are called to look into the case.
They are also searching for a new neurologist to take Ingrid's place. While interviewing new candidates, they meet Ingrid, who looks good and has also begun to go to therapy for her personality disorder. Since Shinwell got a chance to work with them again, the team lets John decide if he wants a nice and common doctor or Ingrid back.
Later, John deduces that Elizabeth was not suffering from dementia but liver failure due to type 2 diabetes. After Mary is announced to be unfit to donate her liver, John finds out about Elizabeth's son, whom she gave up for adoption when she was 25.
They convince Miles, Elizabeth's son, to donate his liver to save her life, who initially refuses, but after learning it was one of his regular customers in the bakery, who gave him insightful advice, he agrees.
The episode ends with the return of Sherlock Holmes, which will be the main narrative of Episode 2 of Watson Season 2.
