Top Chef Season 22 Finale aired on Bravo on 12 June, 2025. The episode featured the three remaining contestants, Bailey, Shuai, and Tristen, who have made it this far into the competition.
As for this week's challenges, the chefs will have a sense of authority over what they cook as the judges want them to showcase their culture and personalities in every dish.
Each of the chefs has to prepare four fish that define them as a person. Ultimately, the winner will receive a $250,000 cash prize and the Top Chef title.
The finale brought back three chefs from the past as sous chefs for the finalists. Bailey decided to pick Lana, Shuai went with Paula, and Tristen decided to opt for Zubair. The episode was filmed in Milan at the Carlo Cracco restaurant, Italy. Along with our usual three judges, guests were invited to taste and give their opinions on the dishes.
Given the fact that each chef had to showcase their style, Bailey decided to cook an artisanal menu that highlights her journey so far. Shuai has roots in China and thus decided to present those for his final four dishes.
As for Tristen, he was applauded in the last episode for putting an African twist on the risotto, and this time again, decided to frame his African-Caribbean culture through his last dishes on Top Chef.
On the final day, the chefs sat down with the judges and shared a meal. Kristen had made her signature white truffle tortellini, Gail went with crostata, and Tom prepared his porchetta.
Top Chef Season 22 Finale Recap - The four courses
First Course - Bailey, Shuai, and Tristen each presented their own version of the food. Bailey cooked an opening of pulpo e mozzarella with tomato dashi. Shuai started off with red shrimp pani puri, which has Asian roots, just like him.
Tristen went with monkfish, which was cooked medium to medium-rare, but the Top Chef judges found it undercooked. Bailey was given the win here.
Second Course - Bailey outdid herself with pasta filled with porcini and pecans. Shuai went with soup dumpling pasta, and Tristen presented chicken with shrimp toast. Tristen won this round.
Third course - As the third course rolled around, Bailey found herself in trouble with an overcooked fish, which was done by Lana. Tristen made oxtail and Carolina gold rice, which he said was inspired by osso buco. Carlo Cracco was impressed by the chef and his choices till now.
Fourth course, Dessert - Shuai revived himself with the dessert and won this round. Tristen made a root vegetable cake with cassareep ice cream and charred plantain cream.
Who won Top Chef Season 22?
After much of the back and forth among the judges as they were trying to decide which chef had won the rounds, they finally made a decision. All three chefs lined up to hear the verdict. Ultimately, Tristen was crowned the winner of Top Chef season 22.
The judges said that he was consistent with his little wins all season and presented his culture in the dishes beautifully.
