Taylor Tomlinson, known for hosting CBS's After Midnight, has bid farewell to the show. It is noteworthy that despite reports claiming that she has been replaced by someone else, it’s not the case.

The show has been cancelled altogether, and the slot will have a re-telecast of Bryon Allen’s Comics Unleashed. Meanwhile, in the final episode of After Midnight, she thanked the audience for showing up.

She felt overwhelmed but was also thankful for the chance to host a late-night show. The show was something she never imagined for herself, since it wasn’t part of her original plan. As a touring stand-up comedian, Taylor Tomlinson already felt fortunate with her career.

The opportunity to host came at a time when she could take it on, but in the end, continuing with the show wasn’t manageable for her. She said:

“I can't believe that I got to do it as long as I did and you know, it was my dream that I would get to finish out this season and hand it off to a new host. I really wanted CBS to replace me because I just think there are so many amazing comedians who would have done a great job with this show.”

Taylor Tomlinson shared that the team she worked with on the show was special. She felt that many people could have done the job well because the team was supportive and skilled at helping others get ready for being on TV.

Taylor Tomlinson thanked the whole crew in her final monologue

Taylor Tomlinson admitted that she had no idea how much effort went into making a daily late-night show. She joked about the intense efforts of the crew members and praised the hair, makeup, and wardrobe teams, saying they deserved awards.

She also explained that the show didn't have the same kind of budget as a typical late-night program, even though they joked about it on air. Everyone on the team had to take on multiple roles and worked extra hard because they genuinely cared about the show. Taylor Tomlinson said:

“The editors of our show start editing the show while it's still happening. Do you realize that? That's how many editors we have working on this show though it comes out that night. We have two showrunners."

She went on:

"We have a bunch of producers. We have so many people behind the scenes that are making this happen. Our talent bookers, do you know how hard it is to book people?”
