NCIS: Origins Season 2 has arrived and fans of the police procedural can now enjoy the prequel series that focuses on the life of a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs, played by Austin Stowell.
Created by Gina Lucita Monreal and David J. North, NCIS: Origins Season 2 is an action and drama show that is a part of the NCIS franchise and is a prequel to the original show.
The show premiered in October 2024 on CBS and with the arrival of a new season, the series will continue to explore the story of Leroy Jethro Gibbs. The first season of the show was set in 1991 and is narrated by the older Gibbs (Mark Harmon).

Fans of the franchise can rejoice as it was confirmed in September that the new show will crossing over with the main NCIS series, even though the two shows take place in different timelines. According to CBR, the November 11, 2025 episode of NCIS: Origins Season 2, “Buried Truth”, will focus on the team investigating a new mystery, which ultimately goes unsolved.
On the same day, the main NCIS show will also release an episode that picks up the cold case featured in NCIS: Origins where they will try to solve the case that was left unsolved in the prequel series.
