MobLand Season 2 is official now as Paramount+ hits the renewal button for Tom Hardy's latest crime drama

The Harrigans are coming back! MobLand on Paramount+ has been renewed for Season 2. The drama series follows the story of two organized crime families in London, who are drawn into a violent feud. This show boasts of a stellar star cast, including Tom Hardy, Pierce Brosnan, and Helen Mirren. The show is executive produced by Guy Ritchie, who also directed the first two episodes. Since its premiere in March 2025, MobLand has been seeing a steady increase in viewership, becoming the number two original series on Paramount+.

Paramount has shared that the premiere episode drew an astounding 26 million viewers since it first aired. As per Variety, Chris McCarthy, Co-CEO of Paramount and president of Showtime-MTV Entertainment, said,

“With more than 26 million viewers and climbing, MobLand has become a resounding triumph – driven by the creative brilliance of Guy, Jez, Ronan and David Glasser, and brought to life by the powerhouse performances of Tom, Pierce, and Helen. We are elated to greenlight a second season of this global phenomenon, which has dominated both domestic and international charts and soared to No. 1 in the UK.”

The finale of Season 1 aired on June 1, 2025. The series is created by Ronan Bennett and is produced in association with MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios. The series is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution. MobLand spent an impressive six weeks on the Nielsen Top 10 Original Series chart. As per Variety, writer and executive producer Jez Butterworth shared,

“TV was a brand new world for me and I was reluctant to commit to a TV overall, but Chris, David, and the teams at Paramount and 101 Studios, completely changed my perspective with their bold creative vision and razor-sharp strategic insight. Collaborating with Chris, David, Guy and our stellar cast has been nothing short of inspiring and I’m excited to dive into the second season of ‘MobLand.’”

What to expect in the second season of MobLand?

The final episode of Season 1, titled ‘The Beast in Me,’ brought the intense showdown between the Harrigans and Stevensons to an end.

The fixer, Harry Da Souza (played by Tom Hardy), finds the mole within the Harrigans organization, who turns out to be the family attorney, O'Hara Delaney (played by Lisa Dwan). What follows is a bloody trail of vengeance. While Harry and the Harrigans have dealt with their enemy, their problems are far from over.

Meanwhile, Harry and his estranged wife, Jan (played by Joanne Froggatt), get into an argument over his unwavering loyalty to the Harrigan family. She stabs him accidentally with a knife she was using to prepare dinner. Now when it comes to a second season, there is this cliffhanger left to address.

Season 2 may see Harrigan family dynamics take center stage as the family patriarch Conrad (Brosnan) and matriarch Maeve (Mirren) make their way back to the business from their short stay in prison. However, Kevin Harrigan (played by Paddy Considine) has gotten more ambitious than before as he looks to take over the kingdom.
