Maxton Hall - The World Between Us is among the highly acclaimed TV series on Amazon Prime Video. It follows Ruby Bell, a girl from a decent background, who has been studying really hard, only to get enrolled into Oxford University in the future.

She's highly intelligent and a disciplined student who attends Maxton Hall on a scholarship, and it turns out to be a school packed with luxury, rich, and mean students, with very few like Ruby.

She then crosses paths with James Beaufort, who is everything that Ruby is not. James also has a twin sister named Lydia, whose secret relationship with the school's teacher connects them all.

So, Maxton Hall - The World Between Us is often described as a teen-focused drama. However, it contains material that is more appropriate for older teenagers rather than younger viewers.

Season 1 is generally suitable for viewers aged 14 and above. Amazon Prime Video has given the second season a stricter 16+ maturity rating, as it begins with an intimate scene and contains more mature content.

Since the first season, Maxton Hall - The World Between Us has been promoted as a teen romance set in a prestigious boarding school. But when it comes to the content in both chapters of the Amazon Prime Video series, it's not safe for kids to watch.

Romantic scenes go far beyond innocent crushes, featuring intense physical closeness and passionate kissing. They also include suggestive moments that imply sexual activity, even if nothing explicit is shown on screen. In some of the scenes between Ruby and James, the two are partially undressed, which adds to the mature tone of the show.

The series also portrays alcohol and drug use in a casual manner. Party sequences show older teen characters drinking freely. As seen in Maxton Hall - The World Between Us Season 2, James (who's one of the main characters and a student) is seen taking pills after his mother dies. And this is something kids shouldn't watch.

Brief nudity is also present, including shirtless scenes and short, unexpected glimpses that parents may find uncomfortable for kids. Language in the show occasionally includes strong or inappropriate words, and certain episodes contain flashing or strobe-like visuals that could affect sensitive viewers.

These factors explain that Maxton Hall - The World Between Us is better suited for older teens or young adults instead of kids who may not be ready for such content. The series has a great story, as it also shows notable character growth compared to the first season.

Not just Ruby, but even James tries to become a better version of himself. After he lost his mother, James started partying, hooking up, and even using substances. However, he eventually realized that it was wrong, not only for him but also for his family and Ruby.

The series has been renewed for the third and final chapter, and it will continue from where Season 2 ended. Ruby's dream fell apart when manipulated photos of her with Professor Sutton implied that she was having an affair. As a result, she's suspended from Maxton Hall and loses her chance to get into Oxford University.
