Time travel and more in IT: Welcome to Derry
After the events of episode 7 in IT: Welcome to Derry, Shaw’s idea to help IT run loose and create further chaos unfolds, and Will becomes entranced by the deadlights. Things are definitely not looking suitable for the group of children. However, the children are not going to run away from the challenge of capturing IT. They want to stop IT from causing any more harm.
The aspect of time travel comes into play with IT’s interaction with Marge in this episode of IT: Welcome to Derry. Lilly, Marge, and Ronnie are completely taken aback by the situation after they arrive at the school. They find that IT has taken everybody from the school, including Will. Though they are scared, they decide to follow the trail of blood to find answers, with only the dagger as their protection.

Marge, Lilly, and Ronnie reach IT as he is taking the kids away. IT comes out to attack them, but Ronnie pulls out the dagger to stop it. However, right then, IT pulls Marge away from the group. IT speaks to Marge in a menacing manner. He addresses her as “Marge Tozier.” When Marge gets confused about the name, IT tells her that she is yet to become “Tozier.”
He then tells Marge that she will become Tozier after her marriage, after which she will have a baby named Richie. He then pulls out a missing poster of Richie Tozier to show Marge. However, he then adds that Richie and his friends bring him his death or birth. This subtle indication of time travel truly leaves a lasting impact. It reminds us of the time in the second movie of IT, where Richie and his friends killed IT.
Right before Marge is attacked by IT, he stops. Marge runs back to Lilly and Ronnie. The other kids, including Will, fall back to the ground. They also regain their consciousness. Leroy and the others come to the location to take them to safety. Right when Leroy and Taniel were going to put the dagger to the tree, they were stopped by Shaw and his team as they showered bullets towards them, killing Taniel.
At the end of the episode, the kids are successful in winning against IT. While discussing her experience when IT took her away, Marge tells Lilly about the things he said to her regarding the son she will have. Their discussion definitely creates yet another intriguing storyline, which might be delved into in the upcoming episodes of IT: Welcome to Derry.
