The Bear Season 4 premiered on June 25, 2025 with all 10 episodes dropping at once. Keeping up with its signature style, the new season has ended in a way that it leaves room for another installment as not all the issues that the characters are going through have been resolved.

The story this season picked up where Season 3 had ended, with the reviews of Carmy’s restaurant being out. The restaurant was shown to be struggling in the last season — with financial constraints, Carmy’s own demons, Sydney’s offer from another place, beside familial issues of other characters involved with the restaurant.

Everyone was on edge last season, but then everyone is almost always on edge on The Bear. Season 4 follows the same trajectory and, given how things ended, it would not be unfair to expect another season. However, FX has not yet commented on the renewal status of the show, despite creator Christopher Storer having a clear idea about how things should go if it is renewed, as Variety reports.

The Bear has not officially been renewed for another season

While there is no official update about the renewal of The Bear, the cast members are already contracted for Season 5, in case it happens. This, along with Storer knowing where he wants to take the show next, adds to the possibility of The Bear being renewed.

Since its very first season, the show has been a critical success, gaining praise for its depiction of the intense stress that people in the hospitality industry face, along with focusing on mental health issues like anxiety and depression. The protagonist, Carmy, is shown to be riddled with anxiety as he tries to turn the sandwich shop of his deceased brother into a high-end restaurant.

The fact that his elder brother Micheal committed suidice further made things worse for Carmy who not only has to deal with professional troubles but also personal demons. The other key characters, like Sydney, Tina, Natalie, and Uncle Jimmy, are all shown to be dealing with their personal issues while also getting involved with Carmy.

With its intense storyline, led by actors like Jeremy Allen White, Ayo Edebiri, and Jon Bernthal, Season 5 will not only need a green signal from FX but will also have to deal with scheduling conflicts of the busy lead cast.

The show’s fate, like any other series, will probably be determined after the network considers various factors like viewership numbers, rating and critical acceptance. For now, fans can only wait till any official news on the next instalment of The Bear is made public.

The Bear can be streamed on Disney+.
