Hell Motel: Everything we know about Shudder's upcoming psychological horror series

Shudder's upcoming limited series Hell Motel is all set to debut with the two-episode premiere on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. Created and executively produced by the Slashers duo, Aaron Martin and Ian Carpenter, this eight-episode limited series will delve into a group of 10 true crime enthusiasts who gather at a newly renovated motel, the site of a satanic manss murder from three decades ago. However, things take a dark turn when the visitors are brutally killed off one by one by a satanic-looking individual.

So if you are a sucker for dark susepenseful stories with a mix of supernatural thrill, Hell Motel is a perfect pick for a mid week watch.

The synopsis of Hell Motel, as per IMDb, reads,

"10 true crime obsessives invited to the opening weekend of the newly renovated Cold River Motel, the site of a 30-year-old unsolved Satanic Mass Murder. History repeats itself when the guests start getting knocked off one by one."

Hell Motel is produced and developed by Shaftesbury in association with Hollywood Suites, with financial aid from Bell Fund.

Hell Motel Episode 1 and 2 will air on the premiere day itself, ie, June 17, 2025, on Shudder and AMC+. New episodes will drop weekly on Tuesdays. Wrapping up the season, the finale episode of Hell Motel, titled Grand Guginol, will release on Tuesday, July 29, 2025. AMC+ subscription plans start from as low as $6.99/month. The upcoming anthology horror series features a star-studded cast, including the Emmy Award winner Eric McCormack, who is all set to play Hemmingway, a chef with an eerie elegance. In the trailer, we see Hemmingway serve some eerie-looking dishes to the motel guests. During the press release, McCormack revealed how eager he was to join the series when he learnt that the Slasher duo, Martin and Carpenter, were developing the series. McCormack previously played Basil Garvey in Slasher Season 5 (Slasher: Ripper), which was released in 2023. He shared his excitement and told (via AMC Networks).

“When Aaron Martin and Ian Carpenter reached out to tell me they had crafted another irredeemable a-hole for me, my response was, ‘Where do I sign? If you loved hating Basil Garvey, prepare to feel an instant disdain for Hemingway.”
