Showrunner Joe Robert Cole spoke to Tudum about the show's development and said:

“I’m incredibly excited to be working with Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù on All the Sinners Bleed. I was looking for someone who could capture the duality of Titus Crown’s nobility and charm while also embodying the seductiveness and sense of danger that speaks to the Southern Gothic roots of the book. I think people are really going to fall in love with him as Titus.”

Cole serves as the show's writer, showrunner, and executive producer and will also direct a few episodes. Apart from that, the show will be executive-produced by Barack and Michelle Obama's production house, Higher Ground Productions, and Cosby himself.

The series is based on S.A. Cosby’s 2023 novel of the same name, which explored the geopolitical and racial lines of South America.

According to Tudum, the official synopsis reads,

Haunted by his devout mother’s untimely death, the first Black sheriff in a small Bible Belt county must lead the hunt for a serial killer who has quietly been preying on his Black community for years in the name of God.
