Tory Lanez’s father, Sonstar Peterson, says his son will be coming home soon. In a recent interview with Power 106 FM, he said there is some new evidence that could help Tory get out of prison early. He also said that he wouldn't be able to give an exact date, but he affirmed that things would work out sooner than expected.

Sonstar is the CEO at W4S CORP, which gives professional courses in dancing, choreography, songwriting, and multiple other talents.

Tory Lanez, whose real name is Daystar Peterson, is in prison in California. He was jailed in 2022 after being found guilty of shooting Megan Thee Stallion in 2020. Now his father is talking to the media, saying new steps are being taken to free him.

This news comes right after Tory was stabbed 14 times in prison. While reports allege he is now safe and getting better, his father’s words are drawing even more attention because they hint at possible justice moves behind the scenes.

Mr Peterson first talked about Tory Lanez's health. As per the reports by Far Out, he said Tory was badly stabbed inside Tehachapi prison. According to a report by BBC News, Tory had 14 stab wounds and both his lungs collapsed. The stabbing incident took place on May 12, 2025, and Tory was allegedly attacked by another inmate, Santino Casio. Tory was sent to a hospital in Bakersfield for care. Sonstar said,

"Despite being in pain, he is talking normally, in good spirits, and deeply thankful to God that he is pulling through."

Tory Lanez was found guilty in 2022and was sentenced to 10 years in prison for shooting Megan Thee Stallion.

According to a May 2025 Billboard report, Tory is being moved to a different prison, and his father said,

"He's being moved because it's part of the prison's protocol that when a situation like this happens."

"I believe it is much sooner than a lot of people think, much sooner than later ... He's coming out, he's coming home.

Sonstar thanked fans and friends who have prayed for Tory. He also asked Governor Gavin Newsom to look at the new evidence and possibly give a pardon. Drake has also asked Governor Newsom to pardon Tory by sharing a petition that has more than 268,000 signatures. The petition says Tory’s case had problems and maybe unfair rulings.

Right now, it’s not clear if Tory Lanez will be released early or not. For now, supporters are watching closely, waiting for updates.
