Nintendo Japan has reportedly partnered with online marketplaces to stop Switch 2 scalpers from reselling consoles. In an official statement released by the company on May 27, 2025, they have addressed the "fraudulent listing of Nintendo products on flea market sites."

"Mercari, Inc., LINE Yahoo Japan Corporation, and Rakuten Group Co., Ltd."
The statement noted that Nintendo and the "three service providers",
"will take measures against fraudulent listings of Nintendo Switch 2 and other products related to the Nintendo Switch 2 that violate the terms of use of service providers."
The release confirmed they will establish "a collaborative system that includes information sharing" and respond to the removal of listings by service providers." According to the gaming news outlet, Shortcut, while some restrictions have been applied to the purchase of Nintendo 2, it is not as strict as the game's home country, Japan.
