The defence team has concluded its cross-examination of Sean Diddy Combs’ former girlfriend, who has opted to be identified simply as Jane. Jane began testifying in the sex trafficking, racketeering and transportation for prostitution trial on June 6, 2025.

Jane, who was with Combs until the music executive was arrested on September 16, 2024, claimed that the Bad Boy Records boss forced her to participate in “hotel nights” with escorts while he watched; she also recounted instances where the label boss had been physically abusive towards her.

The witness resumed the stand on June 12, 2025, and Teny Geragos, a defence lawyer, grilled her on one incident when she had physically attacked Combs over cheating allegations. The defence also brought up affectionate text messages she had reportedly sent Diddy in the course of their relationship as they tried to establish that Jane consented to the sexual encounters with escorts at the hotel.

Highlights from final cross-examination of witness Jane in Sean Diddy Combs's trial

Teny Geragos brought up Diddy's phone conversation with Jane, in which he claimed he wasn’t aware she was unhappy with the freak-off. The witness also recalled that the music executive’s behaviour towards her improved after Cassie Ventura’s lawsuit in 2023.

Jane also confirmed that Combs attempted to get into a rehab program. The defence also questioned Jane on a fight between her and Diddy at her Los Angeles residence in 2024.

Jane claimed that she had pushed the Bad Boy Records boss’s head into a marble countertop due to suspicion that he cheated on her with another woman at a Turks and Cairos trip. Jane added that although she started the fight, Combs escalated it by chasing her throughout the house and leaving her with a black eye and “golf-ball-sized” welts on her forehead.

Jane confirmed that the music executive later asked her why she had attacked him. She quoted Combs as saying:

"We’ve never fought like this before, and now the [Cassie Ventura] lawsuit comes out, and now this happens?’ ” Jane recalled him asking. “‘Now you want to attack me?’”

Geragos also read out text messages sent by Jane to Combs. One message read:

"My dumb a-- thought if I f---ed more and did more hotels [freak-offs], I’ll finally get a trip.”

Another one went thus:

“I don’t have anything post-worthy from our relationship.”

After the cross-examination ended, Assistant US Attorney Maurene Comey questioned Jane for the last time. The prosecution attorney brought up a 2022 message where Jane stated she wasn’t in the mood for a “freakoff”, adding that she didn’t want to upset Diddy. Combs reportedly messaged a “hotel nights” participant to convince her to join.

The defence proceeded to cross-examine Jane again. Jane exited the witness stand for the last time after a 6-day testimony.

The next witness to testify is Jonathan Perez, Diddy’s former assistant who worked from 2021 to 2024.
