This year, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony took place at the Peacock Theatre on November 8, 2025, in Los Angeles, California.
The event was streamed live on Disney+, Hulu, and ABC. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame was established in 1983 by Atlantic Records cofounder Ahmet Ertegun and Jann Wenner. However, the first group of inductees was honored three years later, after its foundation was laid in 1986.
Cleveland was selected as the location for the actual museum following a competitive selection process. It reportedly opened in September 1995. Every year, the Hall of Fame inducts five to seven new performers and honors non-performers with the Ahmet Ertegün Award for Lifetime Achievement.
This year, there were thirteen inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

In April 2025, during a special episode of American Idol, Ryan Seacrest announced the list of 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees. Here is the complete list of inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame across various categories.
The list of performers includes:
Bad Company
It is a British rock band founded by vocalist Paul Rodgers and drummer Simon Kirke. The other members of the band were guitarist Mick Ralphs (who died in June this year) and bassist Boz Burrell from King Crimson. During the ceremony, the original lead did not perform except for Kirke. He was joined by Chris Robinson from the Black Crowes, Nancy Wilson from Heart, Joe Perry from Aerosmith, and Bryan Adams.
Chubby Checker
Chubby Checker chose to skip the event. He stated in a message that he prefers performing for his fans in front of a live audience rather than at a televised ceremony.
He was born Ernest Evans in South Carolina. He was given the nickname “Chubby” by Barbara Clark, the wife of American Bandstand host Dick Clark. He was introduced to the music industry by Henry Colt, the owner of a chicken store. Kal Mann, a songwriter and colleague of Colt, helped him get music opportunities. His career reached its height when he released his breakthrough hit, The Twist.
Joe Cocker
He was a British blues-rock singer popular for his raspy voice and hits such as With a Little Help From My Friends and Up Where We Belong. He passed away from lung cancer in 2014.
Cyndi Lauper
She took to Instagram to express her gratitude to the voting members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for choosing her as an inductee. She also thanked her fans for supporting her throughout her career. She wrote in a message on Instagram:
“Women have made so many important contributions to music and to rock n roll and a win for one of us is a win for all of us.”
Outkast
They are a hip-hop duo based in Atlanta, consisting of members Big Boi and André 3000. They are recognized for their experimental sound, which blends Southern hip-hop with a wide range of genres, including funk, jazz, and psychedelia.
Soundgarden
It is a rock band from Seattle that performed at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame along with its surviving members: drummer Matt Cameron, guitarist Kim Thayil, and bassist Ben Shepherd.
The White Stripes
It is a rock duo formed in Detroit, Michigan. The group consisted of guitarist and lead singer Jack White and drummer Meg White. Although Meg did not attend the ceremony, Jack told the audience that she helped him write the speech.

The first-time nominees among the artists inducted into the 2025 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame included Outkast, Bad Company, Chubby Checker, and Joe Cocker. Cyndi Lauper, The White Stripes, and Soundgarden had been nominated before this year. Lauper and Soundgarden were nominated twice, and the rock duo was first nominated in October 2023 for the 2024 induction class.
