Melbourne-based "bogan funk" seven-piece, Playlunch, officially hits the road this September. This will be their biggest national tour to date. The announcement comes ahead of their second studio album, Sex Ed, which is scheduled to be released on Friday, August 22, 2025, via ABC Music.

The newly-announced trek will cover five Australian cities — Adelaide, Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, and their hometown Melbourne. The Sex Ed tour will see Playlunch perform in "some of the biggest venues" of their career. They will be supported at all dates by Brisbane alt-pop duo JUNO, whom the band first encountered at BIGSOUND in 2024.

Playlunch took to their official Instagram handle to announce the latest tour, captioning:

"BIG LUNCH IS BACK 💦💦💦 Get yourself to the front of the stage. We wanna make ya DANCE. This September we're embarking on our most ambitious tour yet, launching our sophomore album "Sex Ed" at some of the biggest venues we've ever played."

The post continued:

"To think we played our first gig in March 2022, and only three short years later we're headlining rooms like this is CRAZY — we have the best fans in the world, and we cannot WAIT to show you what we have in stall for these bad boys. General 🎟️ on sale this Fri 4th July 10 am. DAL / Early Lunch Presale this Wed 2nd July 10 am. Sign up for the presale via the link in our bio! GET AROUND IT 🎟️🎟️🎟️"

In an official press release regarding this upcoming tour, Playlunch mentioned:

"We are so excited to be having the insanely talented JUNO along for the whole tour with us. We first met them at BIGSOUND in Brisbane last year and couldn't have been more impressed with their show. Everyone is in for an absolute treat, with a night of nonstop dancing and singing across the whole line-up!"

The band continued to speak about their upcoming album:

"We are so pumped to celebrate this new album we have worked crazy hard on for the past year. It's absolutely bananas to us how much love, support and dedication our fans continue to give us, and this tour is a celebration of our commitment back to you guys. We're going to bring it."

Playlunch also added:

"These shows will not only be in these crazy, surreal venues, but will also be the biggest Playlunch show you will have ever seen — packed full of surprises and with the best production value we can possibly cram into the shows. We'll be playing a whole heap of these new tracks live for the very first time (can't wait to show you!), as well as all the favs from our debut album."
