Fans are celebrating Playboi Carti for bringing a young fan out on stage with him to perform Timeless during his show last night.
The I Am Music rapper can be seen bringing a young boy on stage to perform the track with him in videos circulating online, and his actions have fans swooning. The Weeknd can be seen crooning alongside them as well, while the fan, seemingly a little nervous, delivers the vocals to the track.
Here's how one fan reacted on X:
"Carti didn’t just give him a moment. he gave him a memory. This is how culture lives beyond the music."
The comments didn't end there:
"Damn, Carti's a real one. Fan of that energy!" one user noted.
"One of the best day of lil man life," someone else pointed out.
"Bro cares more about his young fans than his kids," another user quipped.
"His legal issues section on Wikipedia is 5 paragraphs. Not a role model for kids," a fourth user penned on X.
Even more chimed in with their own opinions:
"This why Carti da [G.O.A.T. emoji]," someone penned.
"my wholesome goat," another gushed.
"that kid has now rapped that verse more times than Carti," one user jokingly pointed out.
"Imagine spending money for this and they got lil brah up singing ur favorite song…" one naysayer joined the discourse.
The internet was visibly divided, though a large number of them gushed over Playboi Carti for his actions.
Here's what Playboi Carti has been up to:
The Weeknd dropped his Timeless record featuring Doechii and Playboi Carti earlier this month as part of his sixth studio album, Hurry Up Tomorrow. It was co-produced by Pharrell Williams, and the original track is known for becoming the artist's highest debut on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart back when it dropped in February.
The new remix opens with a verse from the Grammy-winning singer of Denial Is A River:
“I been legit since I came out the swamp” and “The fuck do you mean?/I just want the peen.” The Weeknd chimes in, “She just wanna roll and I don’t mind it,” while Playboi Carti renders vocals for a verse from the album version.
Back in March, Carti made headlines after finally dropping an album following a five-year hiatus, a title change, and longtime anticipation from his fans. I Am Music, which was later shortened to simply Music, featured the Weeknd, Travis Scott, and Kendrick Lamar.
It spans 30 tracks, and Playboi Carti's last album before that, his sophomore album Whole Lotta Red, had come out in 2020. It featured cameos from heavyweights like Kanye West, Future, and Kid Cudi. Shortly after, he teased fans with the news that he would be dropping his third album, Narcissist.
A release date was set for 2021, but when it passed by with no music in sight, the rapper revealed that the album was now titled Music. It then shifted to I Am Music before making a comeback to Music.
