Here’s your General Hospital recap on what happened in Port Charles today, Wednesday, July 2, 2025.
What happened on General Hospital

Selina Wu arrived at Windermere to meet with Sidwell. She falsely assumed he wanted to further discuss setting up a high-stakes poker game. Instead, he asked her there to warn her that she was about to go to war with Sonny.
Selina told him he was misinformed because she was not going to war with Sonny, and in fact, she went to great lengths to stay on his good side. Clearly setting Selina up to take the fall, Sidwell said her peaceful understanding changed with Sonny tonight when she firebombed Charlie’s and almost got Kristina killed. Sidwell smugly raised his glass to her, and she angrily acknowledged that he had set her up.
Selina argued her word would carry more weight with Sonny, and he would believe her over Sidwell. Citing that she has crossed him a couple of times in the past, Sidwell told her not to be so sure. She felt his ploy was desperate because he knew Sonny was already onto him. Calm and confident, Sidwell said Sonny would see the evidence point to her associates starting the fire and who knew what other evidence Sonny would uncover about her “involvement”.
Sidwell concluded her best option was to leave town immediately. Selina said she was not going to leave after having worked so hard to build her business. Sidwell said she could return with his blessing after he’d taken care of Sonny himself. With Sonny gone, Sidwell claimed she’d be returning to a much better Port Charles. In the end, Selina said she guessed she had a plane to catch. After she left, Sidwell looked smug in his victory.
At the hospital, Alexis was in Mama Bear protection mode with Kristina in her room. Kristina reassured her she was okay and went on to explain what happened. She smelled gasoline when she walked into Charlie’s and, before she knew it, everything was on fire. After the fire extinguisher wasn’t enough, she felt she wouldn’t have made it if Marco hadn’t saved her.
Alexis was grateful for Marco’s actions and told Kristina that if she had died, she would have killed Sonny with her bare hands. Kristina was reluctant to blame her dad. Molly came in needing help to fill out Kristina’s admission forms because Nurse Deanna needed her ID. Alexis left to take care of the paperwork, leaving Molly and Kristina together. Nurse Deanna caringly helped a distressed Alexis complete the paperwork at the Nurse’s station.
Molly commended Kristina for staying calm and not jumping to defend Sonny when Alexis went after him at Charlie’s. Kristina felt, regardless of the reasons, that her dad wasn’t at fault and knew Alexis was just scared for her child.
Molly reaffirmed how much she loved Kristina, and she didn’t want to lose her, which brought a smile to Alexis’ face as she walked up. Alexis reiterated she could not lose another daughter, which meant they were contractually obligated to outlive her. They agreed they need each other and can’t let anything separate them.
In Natalia’s room, Marco sat, holding her hand. Grief-stricken, he was in shock that she had died and that everything would end this way. He said, “We had our problems, but I love you, I do love you, Mom.”
At the nurse’s station, Lucas shared his worry with Elizabeth and Isaiah that he wasn’t sure what to do and if he should check on Marco. As they were trying to comfort and reassure him, Anna and Chase said Lucas could help by helping them figure out what led to Natalia’s death.
Lucas told them about Natalia’s text messages, which were all gibberish. He was letting them know that Marco said she would sometimes drink and text when Marco came out. Lucas rushed to his side as Anna, Chase, Elizabeth, and Isaiah quickly followed. After Anna offered her condolences for his loss, Marco asked for information about what happened.
Anna explained how they found Natalia unresponsive in her hotel room, and Isaiah explained they were unable to resuscitate her. At that point, Isaiah said they speculated the cause of death was an overdose. Suspicious, Marco immediately asked if it was accidental or intentional. Isaiah said they didn’t know, but the preliminary (not official) autopsy results indicated a lethal combination of tranquilizers and alcohol.
Marco described seeing the fire at Charlie’s and, when he saw a car in the parking lot, stopping to ensure no one was trapped inside the building. Anna told him he was a hero, to which Marco responded, “I was able to save Kristina, but I wasn’t able to save my mother.”
They sat as Anna and Chase asked about the text messages. Marco couldn’t show them his phone because it was still in his car at Charlie’s. He confirmed that Natalia had sent drunk texts before and thought that one of her texts earlier was trying to say “I’m sorry,” but he wasn’t sure. He confirmed he was going to her room because he thought she might need help.
Lucas tried to comfort him, reminding him nothing was his fault, and he stopped at Charlie’s because he knew someone might need his help. Marco questioned how Anna ended up at Natalia’s hotel. She explained, with concerns about the impending plea deal, ADA Turner asked them to pick Natalia up after Chase alerted Turner of Natalia’s troubled episode at the christening.
Marco said he felt his mother was murdered by Sonny Corinthos. He said he didn’t have evidence, but it was obvious, given the circumstances, that Natalia had evidence against Sonny. When he said Sonny found a way to stop her, Lucas intervened and said he should take a minute. He acknowledged his head was spinning, so Anna and Chase decided to leave him for now..
After they walked off, Marco thanked Lucas for stopping him before he admitted he knew about his mother’s deal with Sonny to leave the country. Marco wanted to call his dad, but didn’t have his phone and couldn’t remember the number. Lucas said he could help with that, but needed Marco to get checked out by the doctor first.
Elizabeth helped Lucas locate Sidwell’s number so he could call and inform him about Marco and Natalia. To the side, Anna and Chase discussed the possibility of Marco’s accusation being right when Anna got a text from Metro Court security.
Sidwell arrived just after Marco received the “all clear” from Dr. Gannon. He expressed his sorrow for Marco losing his mother. Marco worried about how to break the news to Alison. He lamented it all being his fault because he didn’t realize how much trouble his mother was in, and maybe he could have gotten to her if he hadn’t stopped at the fire to save Kristina.
Sidwell looked shaken when he realized Marco could have died because of the fire he had started. Marco said, “Thanks to me, Sonny’s daughter is alive. And, thanks to Sonny, my mother’s dead,” which left Sidwell confused as to how Sonny was involved in her death.
Lucas and Elizabeth wondered if Sonny would really have Natalia killed. Lucas didn’t know what to believe, but knew it looked like a mob war was starting with Marco’s family on one side and his family on the other.
At the Q mansion, Tracy asked Brook Lynn if the Christening-palooza was over. Brook Lynn let her know Sonny and company had checked out. Tracy was happy to hear it because she said their home was not a Rotary Club Banquet Hall.
Brook Lynn told Tracy she was working, “the less fun part about living.” Brook Lynn shared her dire concern that Deception may be in trouble, and it may be too late to fix it. Admitting Sonny’s investment was tainted, Tracy said she knew his money would come from an “offshore account” to launder his dirty money, and now they were all complicit.
Outraged, Tracy wanted to know how Sonny could continually reach inside the Quartermaine family and wreak havoc. Brook Lynn tried to explain that Sonny didn’t know, and it was a clerical error. Indignant, Tracy said, “Putting the wrong initial on a bank slip, that is a clerical error. This is a felony, and I am so not happy about being right.” Brook Lynn said she was sorry,y and it was all her fault.
Tracy acknowledged Brook Lynn was raised to trust Sonny, but couldn’t understand how completely rational people become irrational when it comes to him. Brook Lynn maintained her belief that Natalia was telling the truth about it being Sonny’s accountant’s error, and Sonny would never intentionally hurt her or anyone at Deception.
Tracy said it doesn’t matter what Sonny intended, and when everything got out, Deception would be done. She wryly reflected, “You know, when this year began, I had no intention of spending this much of it in police custody.”
Brook Lynn wanted to bury the information in the “deepest, darkest hole” they could find, but Tracy didn’t agree. Instead, she wanted to take it and use it to their advantage. She said they needed to contact the DA’s office right away and come clean about what happened. She felt that if they were honest and declared their innocence, they would probably just end up with a slap on the wrist. And, if they help them nail Sonny, he would end up in jail and they would be rid of him — a “win, win” as far as Tracy was concerned.
When Brook Lynn said she couldn’t do that, Tracy told her not to let her misguided loyalty to Sonny rear its ugly head now. Brook Lynn explained how it would negatively affect Gio because Sonny was the only family he was still talking to. Tracy didn’t want Sonny influencing Gio anyway, but also didn’t want to put any more stress on Brook Lynn’s relationship with Gio. She said she would be delighted to turn Sonny in all by herself.
Chase walked in and informed them about the fire at Charlie’s, Kristina, and Natalia’s death. He indicated they were exploring if it was intentional, an accident, or murder, and confirmed Sonny may be a suspect. Tracy said they needed to keep Gio away from Sonny because he had already taken too many people from the family, and he was not going to take Gio, too.
As they were walking into Sonny’s house, Jason updated Sonny about their men being out in the streets looking for answers to who started the fire. Sonny said they both knew Jenz Sidwell was the one responsible for nearly killing Kristina.
Sonny said it didn’t matter whether or not Sidwell purposely targeted Kristina because she almost died. He angrily noted that ever since Sidwell arrived, two of his children almost died, and he wouldn’t know what to do if he lost Kristina.
Sonny talked about his special connection with Kristina and how alike they were. Understanding her volatility has compelled him to protect her even more. When Jason assured him Kristina's hospital room was being guarded, Sonny said his whole family would be in danger until they definitively found out who was attacking them.
Sonny said he could not take losing another child and wanted to go after whomever did this so hard that they would make an example out of them and no one would ever think about coming after his family again. He felt going “eye-for-an-eye” would be effective and fair.
Jason cautioned that if it were Sidwell they were going after, it'd mean targeting Marco, Sidwell’s only known child, who had just saved Kristina. Sonny understood he owed Marco, but protecting his family would be more important than some debt of gratitude, saying, “If Marco ends up as collateral damage, so be it.” Jason felt there were other ways to get back at Sidwell besides killing his son.
Anna came to see Sonny to inform him that Natalia Ramirez was dead. She asked him to explain why one of his bodyguards was seen talking to her earlier that day, and another was seen outside of her room. She informed him he was considered a person of interest and she needed to take him in for questioning.
Vaughn arrived at Charlie’s Pub to find Josslyn, who asked him to meet her there. Visibly disturbed, Joss told Vaughn she hadn’t planned to come, but when she heard about the fire at Charlie's, she went to check it out for herself and couldn’t seem to get herself to leave.
Joss told Vaughn about Kristina almost dying inside, and, even though they weren’t very close anymore, she was still upset that Kristina could have been killed just because she was the daughter of Sonny Corinthos.
Having read Josslyn's history, Vaughn shared he knew about Sonny being married to her mom and being the father of Donna and Morgan, who he also knew died in a car bombing. Joss acknowledged there was plenty of blame to go around for Morgan’s death, but the bottom line was that Morgan died because he was Sonny’s son, which was the same reason both Michael and Kristina almost died.
Increasingly upset, Josslyn said her family keeps getting hurt and “Sonny Corinthos brings death and destruction wherever he goes.” Joss said she has tried to let go of her anger for Sonny time and time again, but too many people she loves keep getting hurt, and she no longer has any sympathy for him. She finally admitted to Vaughn and herself that a large part of her motivation for joining the WSB was more personal and less altruistic than just an idealistic version of justice — she wanted to get high enough in the WSB to take Sonny down.
Now, Joss figured Vaughn could turn her in and get her kicked out of the WSB for having an unhealthy personal vendetta, making her unfit for the job. Vaughn felt being too idealistic would quickly get her jaded anyway, but having a concrete goal like taking Sonny down would sustain her even through the toughest of times. She asked what his goal was. He said maybe he’d tell her once they knew each other better and pulled toward her to give her a kiss - a real one this time.
Gio met Emma and Outback at the café, and they shared some more cute, flirty banter, but then Emma seriously pointed out that Gio was actually still upset from finding out about Brook Lynn and Dante. She reiterated she was there for him anytime he wanted to talk.
Gio told Emma that he hadn’t figured out how to put his life back together again, but he decided to drop out of PCU. Emma was confused as to why he would choose to leave. Gio said he was on a music scholarship and supposed to be a first-chair violinist in the orchestra, which was a huge responsibility and honor. Because he had no intention of ever playing the violin again, he felt he was no longer deserving of the scholarship, would lose it, and then not be able to afford college on his lifeguard salary.
She encouraged him to borrow money from his family or Sonny, but he did not want to. She then suggested he wait until the Fall to decide whether or not to drop his scholarship because he might feel different about playing music by then. Gio saw Emma’s point but stated he needed a clean break from his old life, which he felt was full of nothing but lies. He said his passion was stolen from him, and his music would be hollow without it.
Gio promised he wouldn’t make any decisions about dropping out for now. Emma suggested that in the meantime, he find other things he was also passionate about. She reminded him that he could help her take down Professor Dalton. Emma said they might have to do something drastic and, possibly, illegal — and wondered if Sonny would give them any pointers on breaking the law and getting away with it. Gio looked at her like she was crazy and responded with an emphatic no, “definitely not. Not even for a good cause.”
