On a recent episode of SiriusXM's Andy Cohen Live, prolific radio jockey Howard Stern brought up his reported beef with Oprah Winfrey once again. Dispelling the popular notion of their very public feud, Stern even admitted to "love Oprah."

As the episode proceeded, the show's host Andy Cohen brought up the topic of Howard Stern's 'enemies':

"I think about who are Howard Stern’s kind of enemies at this point, or punching bags."

It wasn't long before he name-dropped Stern's supposed nemesis:

"And I get the sense that you’ve either publicly or privately kind of mended fences with them, but it seems like Oprah might be the only kind of Howard Stern foe or enemy that you still have?"

Stern was quick to reply to the conjecture:

"No, I love Oprah. I follow Oprah. I enjoy watching Oprah."

When further prodded by Cohen about meeting Oprah, Stern revealed that he was always in favour of quashing any feud amongst them, even speaking to Gayle King, Oprah's best friend. Stern recontextualized the debate and stated:

“I like sometimes how Oprah is so unaware. Maybe she is aware, but I suspect — I’m an Oprah follower, but sometimes she’s unaware of the sort of way she shows her wealth. I couldn’t do that. I’m not saying that she’s wrong. We all know she’s wealthy. But I think in the world right now, there is such a disparity between those who have and those who have not. And it’s only getting worse… so I find it funny. And I’m not gonna sit there and tell you I don’t think it’s funny. I go, ‘Wow, Oprah is unapologetically wealthy,’ and good for her. But I don’t hate Oprah at all. I think she’s brilliant.”

What Did Howard Stern Say About Oprah Winfrey?

In a November 2022 episode of The Howard Stern Show, Stern lambasted Winfrey for flaunting her wealth on social media. The radio host opined that the popular talk show host should rather be 'embarrassed' by her fortune.

In the episode, he says:

"It’s f*cking mind blowing when you follow her on Instagram. You see her estates, her gardens, the people who service her and, you know…"

He continues:

"She’s got servants and, like, people cooking and it’s fucking wild. She knows how to be rich…She kind of likes to show it off, which is something I’m not comfortable with. I don’t think that people should show off their wealth."

While Stern went about his rant on Winfrey's wealth, his co-host Robin Quivers pushed back and said the talk show host was merely offering a window into her world.

Later, towards the end of the episode, Stern took on a more passive demeanour and complimented Oprah for her outreach and philanthropic programs. Speaking of her annual tradition of inviting students from her South African school, Stern said:

"They — I think they believe Oprah’s God because let me tell you, she provides, she gives them an education. She gives them meals, don’t ask. They love her. And it, it’s impressive. I gotta be honest. I mean, you know, it’s real charity work."

Interestingly, this isn't the first time Stern has attacked Oprah. In 2004, facing the FCC's ire for the content he covered in his show, Stern implored the agency to probe Oprah's show instead, as it covered topics like teenage s*x.
