Hollywood icon Ann-Margret surprised her fans on June 28 by making a rare appearance at the Lead with Love 6 telethon for a fundraiser. A clip posted to Project Angel Food’s social media page featured the actress sharing the secret behind her iconic dance moves. With her characteristic charm, Ann-Margret said,

“My heart and my seat”

Despite being 84 years of age, Ann-Margret has been active in the entertainment industry. The Bye Bye Birdie actress has launched a variety of ventures. She expanded her singing career by releasing a rock ’n’ roll cover album, Born to be Wild in 2023. That same year, she also launched a limited edition perfume, all profits from which were donated to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Fund.

The singer-actress also attended the Planet Comicon in Kansas City in March 2025. As per Woman’s World, she announced her appearance on social media, and in a video, saying,

“Hello Kansas City. I’m so excited to be here. Come visit me at Planet Comicon downtown all weekend. Hey, see ya soon!”

About Ann-Margret’s recent acting roles and love for biking

Ann-Margret achieved fame in the 1960s after starring in classics such as Bye Bye Birdie, for which she was nominated for a Golden Globe, and Viva Las Vegas opposite Elvis Presley. She had an enduring career which saw her become one of the most well-known figures of the era.

The actress appeared in Ray Donovan, a crime drama starring Liev Schreiber for a two-episode stint in 2017. She also appeared in Papa, a film starring Eric Roberts in 2018, followed by a guest appearance in the Netflix series, The Kominsky Method as per IMDb.

In 2021, she featured in the film, Queen Bees which also starred Ellen Burstyn and Loretta Devine. She also appeared in a Hallmark film, A Holiday Spectacular in 2022.

As per People Magazine, in 2024, Ann-Margret made an appearance at the Women’s Image Network’s 25th Women’s Image Awards, where she shared her love for motorcycles with the audience. While describing her favorite vehicle, the actress said,

“It’s lavender, and it’s got white daisies all over it. There’s flowers on the back fender and the front fender. I love the speed.”

Continuing with her characteristic humor, the actress clarified,

“I love speed. Not the dr*g.”

That same year, while speaking to Fox News Digital, the icon shared that her love for motorcycles originates from her family. As per New York Post, she said,

“It was my daddy who inspired me to ride. Before he met my mother, he had a couple of motorcycles. One was an Indian and the other a BSA. And my uncle, my mother’s brother, had a big motorcycle. When I was 10 years old, I would ride on the back of his bike with him.”

The actress, who was born in Sweden, continued,

“He would take me to the Norwegian border, and we would go into Norway. There’s no way I could forget that motorcycle…The speed, being in the elements, the wind and the rain, the sleet and hail – oh gosh, I get very excited when I even talk about it…Today, I’ve got this incredible Harley-Davidson motorcycle. It’s very funny when you see it parked next to all the other bikes…It’s quite unique.”

In 2021, the actress also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at the 24th Family Film Awards, as per Fox News.
