Wendy Williams stepped out in New York City streets with her friends on Thursday, June 12, TMZ reportedly exclusively. According to the outlet, the former broadcaster and talk show host was seen with journalist/media executive Alvina Alston and fashion entrepreneur Tobi Rubinstein.

In TMZ’s exclusive video, Wendy is visibly overjoyed to meet Alvina and hugs her on the sidewalk. Both are seen having a word when Alston seemingly tells Williams that she is with Tobi Rubinstein. On noticing Tobi, the former TV personality expressed her excitement and embraced her as well. When the TMZ correspondent asked them whether they were having a “big meeting,” Rubinstein responded that they were having a girls’ night out.

The correspondent then complimented Wendy Williams for her appearance, as she smiled on camera again before entering the restaurant with her friends. The trio grabbed a meal at Le Marais, a kosher French steakhouse in Midtown Manhattan near Time Square. TMZ highlighted that Wendy Williams was beaming with joy during her night out. For the unversed, she has been staying at the Coterie Senior Living facility for almost a year.

The well-known TV personality has also been fighting a legal battle against the court-ordered guardianship that has been in place since 2022. Later, her team announced that she was diagnosed with primary progressive aphasia and frontotemporal dementia (FTD), according to People.

Wendy Williams was previously seen having dinner with Don Lemon in April

Almost two months before the former talk show host stepped out with her friends to have a girls’ night out, she was seen having dinner with Don Lemon and her husband, Tim Malone. According to TMZ, Wendy’s niece Alex Finnie also joined the trio at Il Cantinori, an Italian restaurant in Greenwich Village.

A day before she went out to eat with Lemon, Malone, and Finnie, Williams was supposed to meet her newly-appointed personal lawyer, Joe Tacopina, who garnered media attention for being the defense attorney in A$AP Rocky’s trial. Per TMZ, Wendy was denied permission to go out and have dinner with her lawyer.

The outlet later asked Don Lemon about his lunch with the former broadcaster. He told the TMZ correspondent,

“It was good to see her. I haven’t seen her in a long time. I’ve just spoken to her, but she looks really good and she’s in great spirits and her aura is great and she seems fine to me. [...] She ate a lot. She doesn’t like the food where she is, so she ate a lot and I was happy she did.”

When asked about whether Wendy Williams mentioned the food at the assisted facility, Lemon replied that one can “imagine what it’s like where she is.” Don also talked about not being on good terms with the former talk show host in the past, but claimed that she apologized for her previous comments, which he never took personally.

In February, TMZ reported that Wendy was allegedly shifted to the memory unit on the fifth floor of the facility after she reportedly got drunk at the restaurant in the building. ID Channel’s documentary TRAPPED: What Is Happening to Wendy Williams?, which premiered in May, made more claims about the alleged shifting.

According to the journalist Diane Dimond, featured in the hour-long special, Williams visited the rooftop bar on her birthday and got drunk. After the incident, Wendy was apparently shifted from the third to the fifth floor. Diamond further alleged that the former talk show host is locked in her room 24/7 “unless the guardian gives her permission to go out.”
