Crimson Tide is finally getting a sequel
Crimson Tide was released in 1995, received positive reviews, and grossed $157.4 million at the box office. Jerry Bruckheimer, the film's producer, recently appeared on The Rich Eisen Show, where he discussed a sequel he is working on. He said,
“We have a really good director and writer talking to the navy right now about what’s going on under the water."
While Jerry didn't reveal the director or writer's name, he stated that Denzel Washington might return as Ronald Hunter, aka Ron.
"If we give him a good script, I think he’d do it.”
Several people involved in the film have since passed away, including its director, Tony Scott, antagonist Gene Hackman, and co-writer Robert Towne. Jerry said:
“We had Tony Scott, a phenomenal director. We had Quentin Tarantino and Robert Towne, two of the greatest writers and directors, writing on that movie. … I don’t know if I’ll ever replicate that kind of writing for a film.”
Tarantino is the uncredited writer of the film, and he wrote several dialogues involving pop-culture references.
Crimson Tide revolves around a bunch of ultranationalists from post-Soviet Russia who plan to nuke Japan and the United States. Here is a list of its cast members:

- George Dzundza as Chief of the Boat Walters
- Viggo Mortensen as Lieutenant Peter Ince aka Weps
