Portugese actress and model Sara Sampaio posted an old picture of her with her dog, Mongo, on Instagram on May 20, noting that her dog is still missing. The actress had previously mentioned that Mongo went missing in Los Angeles on April 28, after he ran away from her backyard.
In her desperate attempt to look for the dog, Sara Sampaio penned a tribute in her recent Instagram post noting that yesterday was Mongo's one-year anniversary of bringing him home, and she has "such a deep bond with him". She added,
"Not going to lie my mental health has taken a deep dive these past few weeks, not knowing what happen to him, if he’s ok has been the hardest part of it all. How do you grieve and still hold hope?"
Her recent post comes after she posted a flyer in search for Mongo on Instagram on May 8, issuing a reward of $10,000 to whoever finds her dog.
The flyer notes that Mongo has been missing since April 28 and was last seen on Sunny Drip trial in Los Angeles. She added a phone number for people to call or text with any information.
"We tried everything we could to find him" - says Sara Sampaio
In her recent post, Sara Sampaio noted everything that she and her team did to look for Mongo, including posting flyers, getting sniffing dogs, hiring professionals, animal communicators and more for Mongo.
However, the model said that she might have to come to terms with the possibility that she might never see him again. She wrote,
"I'm coming to terms with my own limitations and how little control I have and that there's a possibility I'll never see him again, and that has been extremely hard to process."
Sara Sampaio also noted that her recent post will be the "last update" she makes regarding her dog, and asked viewers to not ask her for any more updates. She promised that if there is any update on finding Mongo, she would "blast it everywhere."
At the time when Mongo went missing, Sara told her viewers that she believes he is "probably scared and hiding." She also noted that he was last seen on Ellington dr. and requested users who live in the area to check their cameras constantly and contact her if they see him. She also alerted users not to chase after the dog, and try to "keep movement in that area to a minimum," so that he feels safe to come out and doesn't "run away to other areas."
