At the beginning of the episode, we saw Shin's 800 cavalry riding to attack an exposed part of Kyou Kai's camp. The Hi Shin Unit managed to sneak in between two armies: The Ma Kuang Army and the Raku Gaku Unit. Once they trapped Kyou Kai, it looked like they were about to win. The battle was going really well for Qin and his multi-pronged attack.In an unexpected turn of events, Li Mu proved to be the “deadly decoy." Using a small unit of cavalry, he infiltrated Qin's territory without being detected or stopped by Qin's outer defences or scouts. He then rode to the front and engaged in direct combat with the commander of the left faction, Ma Kuang.After Ma Kuang's death, it created instant confusion and anarchy within the left faction. Ma Kuang's subordinate leaders stood by in shock, unable to issue orders or react to what had happened. The panic permeated through their ranks and caused all their unity and organisation to disintegrate.Shin saw that Li Mu was getting away, but he wasn’t able to stop him. He put his original task of going after the Zhao strategist on hold and tried to chase down Li Mu, but Li Mu got such a jump on Shin, there was no possibility of catching him that time. The enemy general openly ridiculed Shin in their very short conversation.The end of the event left the Ma Kuang Army so shocked and afraid that they were stunned into inaction. Shin and Mou Ten were left with the enormous task of stopping total defeat from becoming a reality.
