Blue Lock is currently at an immensely intriguing phase, as the 23 survivors from the Neo Egoist League begin preparing for the U-20 World Cup. However, given how much fans look forward to every new installment, the story is also prone to create controversy when its developments don’t align with their expectations.

The preview of Blue Lock chapter 310 has created outrage among the fandom. It revealed that the series will be bringing the focus back to Nagi yet again, showcasing his conversation with Igaguri. This reaction may come as a surprise to many who aren’t caught up with the story, as Nagi is one of the most popular characters in the series.

Since the start of Blue Lock, the Lazy Genius, Seishiro Nagi, captivated viewers with his easygoing attitude and superior footballing ability. His interactions with the rest of the cast only added to his appeal. His development from an uncaring individual to a dedicated player working towards manifesting his egoism made countless fans fall in love with him.

However, after scoring a stunning goal against Isagi’s team in the Neo Egoist League, Nagi became satisfied with himself and stopped growing. This ended up leading to his downfall, as he didn’t contribute in any of the other matches and was eliminated from Project Blue Lock. Though readers were heartbroken, they appreciated the bold narrative choice.

Unfortunately, the recent chapters have gradually chipped away at the emotional impact of Nagi’s elimination. Chapter 310’s early look has finally caused viewers to grow weary of the constant attention received by Nagi.

Blue Lock chapter 310 may make Nagi go from most loved to most hated

Blue Lock chapter 310 is scheduled for release on July 9, 2025, and a preview has given readers an idea of what to expect. This early look reveals that the installment will cover Igaguri and Nagi, two dropouts, talking to each other. Since the chapter is titled “Just Quit”, it will likely heavily feature Nagi’s internal struggles as he is forced to choose whether to betray Blue Lock.

Though Nagi’s continued presence is crucial as a main character, several fans feel the creators are focusing too much on his popularity. They believe this is affecting the consistency of the storyline. For reference, since Nagi’s impactful elimination in chapter 300 of Blue Lock, he has appeared in 6 out of the last 10 chapters.

Apart from this, the prodigy has his own spin-off manga, titled Episode Nagi, which is being serialized concurrently. Though readers like Nagi, many believe that he is being overused for the sake of the viewership he attracts. Even at this exciting stage, where Isagi and the remaining players are training for the World Cup, Nagi continues taking precedence over others.

Due to the “overdose” of Nagi content, fan perceptions of the character are shifting from most loved to most hated. The creators will have their work cut out to keep Nagi relevant without letting him dominate the spotlight. They need to ensure that the path towards the U-20 World Cup remains the main focus.
